Planning to replace the speakers in the front and rear doors of my 850 GLT. Does anybody know the exact sizes of these? I measured and I get 5" - 5.25" and the rears between 5.5" - 6". I need to know the exact size so I know what to buy. Also, is there anything else I need to know regarding replacing these speakers. BTW I'm not going for a big system with booming bass, just something that sounds good and doesn't break the bank.

Exact size only matters if you are replacing it with a European speaker. American speaker are not an exact match. Use your best guess on what can fit. Use a dremel to install a slightly larger speaker than factory. Be mindful of speaker depth when installing in doors(depth factors eg. fit too deep of a speaker and it hits window, 2 or 3 way speaker too high not allowing factory speaker grill to fit). My advice would be to remove one of each speaker size and take them into the store you are going to buy from. Match it up there, this is where buying from a big box store and a 30 day return policy could come in handy if you get a speaker that might not work.

I think I'll take your suggestion to remove one of each and take them with me to the store. Hopefully this will work. One of the rear door speakers is falling apart so I need to get them changed quickly.
