Does anyone have any suggestions for a good, all-season tire that would perform well in the snow? (available in the U.S.) The low profile, stock tires on my '05 V50 (sport package) are horrible in the snow and I need to replace them before the snow starts falling.

Thanks.

That's funny because my stock tires are all season tires and I'm sure they'll last long (almost 15000 miles and not too much ware) but they are terrible in the summer. I haven’t had much problem during snow. However in the summer and when it rains they don't grip the pavement well under hard to medium acceleration from the stop position and screech while turning sometime on tight corners. I have some Michelin Energy MXV4 S8 205/55/R16 not what you would call sport tires. I’m thinking I should get a set of summer tires and then winter tires once these run out if ever…What do you have? How do they perform? I have an S40 T5 so I often feel my engine over power the tires.

Hi cbass11,

I have the same setup as you. I bought some Dunlop Graspic and rims from http://vitessetuning.com/, they shipped right to my door (installed on rims, balanced, and inflated to 35#). These tires are amazing on snow (I live in snow counrty - upstate NY) and ride very well on dry pavement also. The stock 17" Michelin tires that came with the car are terrible!!

I hope this helps.

Cheers....
