Hi all,

Here is my first post. First of all I just want to say this is a great forum for answers and information. However, I could not find anything related to how Sirius can be installed given the following.

I have a 2007 XC with iPod adapter pre-installed (no NAV or jukebox). The car was purchased from a Canadian dealer (therefore Sirius n/a). From what I have read in this and other forums, my vehicle may already be sat preped. I have the HU-850 sound system and the iPod accessory takes care of (I think?) the comms protocol (melbus cable/wiring harness).

My question is what additional part(s) is required for Sirius ?? Is the Sirius unit (receiver/antenna) installed somewhere in the same area (cargo space) as the IPod wiring?. How does the HU-850 'SAT' option become available? Does the HU-850 need to be taken out and configured as well or once the Sirius receiver is installed then 'SAT' becomes available? Apologies for all the questions.

I prefer to have the integrated sat. receiver configuration as opposed to an external one. I think am I close to accomplishing this. Unfortunately the dealer is useless (their order system does not even allow them to order any Sirius related items) and Volvo Canada customer service is even worse (the response to my feedback was to use an iPod)

Appreciate any advice here. Thanks in advance.....//DZ

Go to the audio forum at swedespeed. All the answers to your questions can be found there about adding sirius. That particular forum seems to be geared toward melbus head units and their respective adapters.
