I had a loose hood release cable. I thought I could tighten it
by tightening the wire on the passenger hood release. I closed
the hood...Big mistake.

Now I have a v90 1998 with a hood release cable that opens the passenger side release latch but will not open the driver's side release latch.

Is there a way to release the mechanism from the front or from below? The two person method has not worked so far.

Looking up from underneath ther car at the driver's side locking latch, I pulled down the metal plate attached to the spring on the side closest to the midline of my car and the lock released. I adjusted the locking mechanism cable and everying worked just fine.
