I don't give names to my cars but they do have a sex. This for a simple reason. I'm from France and in French every single word has a sex. Thus for a car (la voiture) it is female and that's pretty much how I think of it. The steering wheel is mal (go figure) and the tires are female.

You can imagine the party every time I turn the ignition on

[FONT=Geneva]I agree my Volvo is female also, I have named her Anna Lina. Something that beautiful has to have a beautiful name. She is a silver with blue top. As a note my husband has a black with black top CLK430 benz and he named him Lou short for Lucifer.

She doesn't have a name, it adds an element of mystery. But she does like it when I talk to her. :)

I never really contemplated it before, but IMO a car has to be female. I think its the whole "taking her for a drive" thing.

All my other vehicles have names, this one for some reason never was named. Until the youngest of my nieces came to me and asked me if she could go for a ride in the Devil-vo. I asked her why that name and she said that the red that I had the car repainted in was the color of blood and for the devil and that blood mobile was uncool. So, yes my car is named Devil-vo and she is a she-devil.
