Owners, I really am starting to grow tired of FM and crappy CD's. Can anyone offer advice on adding an ipod cable or adding some type of Sat. radio to the 2005 xc90? Please! I have looked all over the net and am getting conflicting information. It looks like Dension is the closest to an interface, but what do all of you Volvo guys think is the best option for a new source of music? Thanks in advance.

Except for the hack by MrGadget (do a search on this forum), I think your ONLY reasonable choice today is the Dension Gateway 500 interface.

I personally have not done either... yet. I'm wanting to connect my Garmin Nuvi 660 navigation GPS to the car's system. For that application, MrGadget's hack would provide the most seamless operation, since the sound from the aux input is overlaid whatever sound is coming out of the sound system at the time. So voice instructions and BT phone sound would just overlay the radio or CD output. Perfect for my application. However, my amplifier is different than MrGadget's, and no one else who has also performed the hack has posted the information for the other model amplifiers out there. I wait patiently...

For full iPod connectivity, the Dension would be the way to go, although it's fairly expensive at about $450. Hey, at least there is an option now! For many years, you would have been plain SOL.
