Seeking advice on the best way to open my trunk. It is stuck shut. When I use the remote control lock, I can hear the lock mechanism sounds but I hear an extra "whining" noise... making me think that it is already locked. The release latch on the outside acts like it is locked. I have tried unlocking with remote, the key, and the interior unlock button to no avail. I opened the ski hatch in the middle of the back seat and looked inside. I do not see anything visibly blocking the area in the vicinity of the center of the truck near latch area. Is there anything else I can try before having to submit to dealer price shock? Is there an emergency release inside that I could try to snag with a long hook or stick or something like that?

It seems like the lock mechanism is stuck locked.

Is this a common problem? Recommendations?
