Just making sure you guys know my car is still ugly and chrome laden. :)

Redid the cove base yesterday, the original was killed in a hit and run last year. The good cove base seems to not be available anymore. I'm not too happy with this new stuff. Yes, that is how my wheels look when the spinners are off.

I have to gouge my eyes out now.

The only thing that does look good on that poor 850 is the Cove Base. Which by the way needs some OEM paint applied to it.

1. The headlights are pure ugly crap.
2. The chrome mirror cover scream RICE.
3. The Chrome rims are just not in my taste at all. Chrome on a Volvo is a crime unless it can be done tastefully which more times then not it cannot be done at all.

A. Get E-codes or...
B. Get the black Jewel headlamps or the chrome ones if you can find them.

LOL Rob you're so funny!
Why don't you come back to VS and try for banning number 33?
If not, I guess you could hang out on this sweet forum. Even the threads on NON-VOLVO sites that this car was posted in got more replies than this one. :460: Enjoy!

BTW, if you liked it, I'd know I was doing something wrong. :)

A car is part of you. You make it your own. If you are happy with it then who cares what everybody else thinks. Enjoy your ride.

The cove base...I actually would not have realised (at first) that's what you used without being told..so in my opinion..you pulled it off..good job. The chrome does nothing for me..but than again..it's not my ride. Good on ya for having the stones to be innovative and unique!

:cat: Hi there everybody.

Don't all shout at once please!! :excl:

I like the chrome bits-appendages on the external rear vision mirrors.

I would like a pair like that for my S80 mirrors instead of the painted surfaces which I have at the moment.

Does anybody know who makes the chrome bits or where I could buy them please?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers :right:

You can get them from the dealership. They are a Volvo accessory.

:cat: Thank you. I might try our local agent.

If the parts cost a fortune, have you got any clues as to where I could try on the after-market to buy a pair please?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers :right:

I don't know if there is anything in the aftermarket. The parts cost $160 USD. In the kit you get a bone tool and the caps.

:cat: Hi there Owned.

In our currency that is going to cost the thick end of about $400.00.

Maybe repainting them is not going to be so bad after all! :P

Thanks for your input.

Cheers :right:

There is a company that makes a "chrome paint" that bikers use on their rides. It looks like chrome from 5 feet away. I can't remember the name at the moment, but when I do, I will post.
