My old one 1989 745 had 510'000km. Runned nice, but then, someone smashed all glasses. Now i have a 760 Turbo Intercooler from 1989 with 310'000 km.

I've got 305,989miles on my dear old 740gl wagon. I'm told that I should work as a Volvo salesperson because I'm always talking up the 240 and 740 series...
What people don't realize is that they don't make them like they used to!!!

I've got a little over 281,000km on mine, and it's so awesome. I love my volvo, I see these modded japanese cars on the streets and I just laugh. Volvos present such class and equisite engineering, and are the ultimate sleeper car. Those gawdy japanese tuners are just so ridiculous looking...most of the times. *sigh* I love my car :)

hi,

Bought my 1990 740 in May 2007 with 360,000 on the clock, added about 4k since then.

Bought another 1992 940 in May 2008 with 286,000 on it, unfortunately the meter is currently stuck. Judging by the gas consumption, must've put in another 2k. I could be wrong though.

All original wheel caps are kept at home, too many stories of nick-ings. Gonna switch to alloys soon.

My 1990 Volvo 740 2.3L 4 Cyl Turbo/Wagon/Auto still has it's original 135,000 miles, "Rust Free", Mechanically Sound & Very Good Condition!, You Guys & Gals can have all those "Bragging Rights" on most Kilometers & Miles, As for me, Mine will still be running strong, while you all keep laying out big bucks(money)for: "Wear & Tear", While mine will still be going & going like a "TIMEX WATCH: TICK TICK TICK," And your's will be going "COUGH, GAG, CHOKE & DEAD!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) By the way, What's a Volvo these days worth with over 350,000 Kilometers or Miles? $100.00 (One Hundred Bucks For Scrap? Kelly Blue Book! My engine on my 1989 740 just gave up yesterday after 321,000 plus miles. I have a parst car with only 106,000 miles on it so that engine will go in next week. Hope to make the half million!

Our Volvo 740 wagon is up to 411,000 km, its still going good, the mechanic says it has at least another 5 years, I hope he is correct as I don't want this car to go. Its the best car we've owned..

My 1990 740 GL has 222740 miles on it, no trans rebuild and no major overhauls since it was new. It was run into the back of an suv a few days ago so I suspect the odometer will rest at 222k from here on. I wondered how long that car would keep going. I guess I'll never know unless I can find replacement parts at a reasonable price. The clock on the dash still worked as did every other item on the car.
