1992 740 wagon 106,336 miles (actual)
Bought it from the original owner 7 years ago, and used motorhome or van for most of my travel. It has been sitting for 2 years, and doesn't run, but I'm getting ready to get it back on the road. Body, glass, and interior are excellent so it should be worth the effort.

i have a 1988 with 362000 mi and only use 1 qt oil in 5000mi. need to run 10mi before od kicks in. did run perfect until yesterday then fuel pump sytem stopped. still working on it. :grin:

My 1989 740 GL Wagon (Gretta) just turned 225,000 last week.
I have just replaced the head gasket and a good portion of the engine components. I only paid $450 for her and will throw a few thousand into her before I call it quits.

My 1990 740 Gl Sedan (Leon) is still a kid at 147,000. Paid a few thousand for him off of a lot and have had no major problems yet...yet.

I have 320000 on the clock but it stopped working a long time ago so now must be pushing 350000 km. The engine runs really well but everything else seems to be going wrong. lovely car though!

My 3 Cars All Have Quite High K's


My 1981 244 DL Has 337,528Kms ive had it 2 years and put 20,000 on it probably still goes but main bearings are starting to get noisy and burns allot of oil so shes getting tired one rego expires end of this month shes being retired into the shed and getting restored so expect some photos in my garage of the progress once that starts.

my 1986 740 GL has 310,228 K's and goes ok but engine has been badly mistreated and as such requires a bit of TLC and a new head gasket but once thats done she will be a great car otherwise.

my 1988 740 Turbo Has 300,000kms and goes without a problem ive had it 3 years and haven't had to do a dam thing to it go the flying brick :P

my turbo actually has a little piece of history behind it it was brought brand new in 1988 by an Aussie singer known as jimmy Barnes not sure if you guys have heard of him or not but yeah quite a interesting piece of history to go with the car.

if only he could see it now ay ... heh heh got 173000 miles on my 740 and 113000 on my 940 ... they just babies compared

My 1991 740 turbo has 242,888 on the clock and running strong! Love my Volvo!

330,000+ miles,used as a delivery vehicle, 250 miles per day stop and go tank. 1992 Silver 740 Turbo Wagon with black leather. I have 210,000+ out of this current turbo. Engine and transmission are original. and still runs strong. :banana:[COLOR=blue]

My odometer hasn't worked since 160K but I imagine my 1990 740 has somewhere between 270,000 and 300,000 miles. She was never sat for any period of time and was always a long commute highway vehicle.

My alternator just gave out on me today and I am pretty broken up about it. Long day of work ahead of me to get her going again tomorrow.

i have a 1988 volvo 740 gle wagon with almost 186k miles on it, im sure it will run untill 250-300k though. but i dont know if ill keep it much longer as i really need air conditioning(i think basically everything to do with AC in my car is dead)

where I work we have a customer with a 740 Non-turbo working with Volvo because he is just about to turn 1 Million miles. The car really already has over 1 million. But the odometer was broke. The odometer still reads 999,something not quite to the 1 million yet.
