A friend of mine who I know through his love of motorbikes told me a few years ago he was gonna start a car detailing business when he had the time & money(and the bravery to quit his printing job to do it)

Well he did it this year & I had my car(V40) & my Dad's car & my father in law to be(at the time) car done by him(mates rates obviously).

So if you want to restore your paintwork to something resembling decent after years of road grime and washing with gritty sponges he definately the man to call.

Examples

A recent S40 he did. BEFORE

This is the bonnet after two washes & some claying of bonded contaminents(detailing junkies will know what I mean)

This is qhat Paul calls "a fifty fifty" on the bonnet he taped the bonnet down the middle and re finished the clear coat on one side to remove a large proportion of the swirls and scratches which are from everyday use & careless washing

Thats another shot in the sun outside the garage

This is the final shot when he finished (it might even be a forum members car!)

My car was a similar transformation

AFTER

Be aware this IS NOT CHEAP A V70 Estate may cost you over 400 quid as its a good 12-14 hours work.

But I think you'll agree WELL WELL worth it if you cars looking a bit tired.

Oh man, dont ever use a sponge!! Get a good quality wash mit. And use the two bucket method, one with the car wash soap and the other with just water to rinse the mit out while washing.

Car looks great BTW

FYI, this is a great site for car care,

it helps to know how to detail the car yourself, but not everyone knows how, i use a microfiber wash mit works great, the mr.clean carwash works also if you dont like to hand dry, but i prefer the mit and hand dry.
