I have noticed a curious moonglow illuminating the gearchange console for a short while after locking my V50 when it is dark. This seems to trace to a small greenish LED shining down from a hole in the overhead console. The dealer cannot explain the purpose of this and neither can I. It does give the console a wonderful enchanted glow which is nice - maybe this is its sole purpose. I have an Australian spec. T5 AWD with six speed manual and no sunroof (the sunroof is not an option on the T5 AWD in Australia but is on the other V50s in Australia for some reason of weight consideration that was never clear to me). Has anyone else discovered this strange glow and can anyone exlpain it?
P.S. I have not noticed any UFOs at the time!

it's normal, every v50/s40 has it. it makes the center console look nice.
