I finally got around to doing a good wax job on my 2006 V50. In my overenthousiasm I was a bit sloppy and got wax all over the black trim all around the car. The car is RED, so it looks great with the contrasting black trim.... not so much when the black trim has white streaks all over it though.

Unfortunately I let it dry and it would not just rub off and I was NOT going to start using some chemicals to remove it.

Solution... Peanut Butter

Took some smooth (not chunky) peanut butter and a firm nylon brush (tooth brush is fine). In no time and with very little effort the black trim was black again. It does have a slight scent of peanut butter, but it's not noticeable really.

The oil in the peanut butter, combined with a very slight abrasive action of the paste worked wonders. I had tried Back to Black by Mothers, but was going through that like crazy... PB is way cheaper.

Cheers.

I really appreciate sharing that on this forum. I am in exactly the same situation (wax on the black trim) and I didn't know how to get it off.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I think as long as you use "black"berry jelly, you would be fine! :P

Glad I could help with something that would otherwise seem so simple.
