That's called the IACV. I made a few mentions on it before, but maybe not in this thread. Take it out, and CLEAN it. Use carbon-cleaners and spray it well into the openings and shake it and dispose of the black residues that i believe will come out of the process. Do it a few times, until it is clean INSIDE. Let it air-dry.

You might want to also clean the throttle-body. For this, you'll need some petrol liquid. Remove the TB and clean it well, and again, let it air-dry. Then try again and see.

Both the process should be performed in a WELL-VENTILATED space.

IF it still doesnt work, try swapping with a working IACV unit. The IACV can die, but it can last a long time before it does.

Good luck!

What about those clamps that are on there. they are made in a way that they are one time use. Can I use just regular hose clamps after cleaning it?

They can be used again if you use the special tool but yes you can just put some regular hose clamps back on I think they work better anyway.

I've been using regular aftermarket 'cycle' clamps all the while.

YES, for the IACV, use Carb Cleaner... I've also seen some mechanics use petroleum to clean it. Either way, just get the internals clean. Either spray directly into the opening, and shake it a little and then pour it out.

When it stalls does it start back up right away or not ? if it don't start right back up do you have spark from the coil wire when it wont start have you replaced all the spark plugs with new ones ? and the wires unless your sure their ok. Does the engine run pretty smooth when it runs or does it have a slight miss ?

Will not start right back up and when idling theres a slight miss but it could be my exhaust leak. I don't know if I have spark. I try's to turn over though. Plugs were replaces and the wires seem fine.

When the car runs remove the spark plug\wire cover and when its pitch black dark outside start the engine and watch for any light or dark blue sparks you should see none if you see some than you need new wires or new of what ever is sparking like the distributor cap and or rotor or coil or coil wire. Check for sparking and or arcing from any of the spark plug wires or coil wire when the engine wont start or shorted to ground wires. If theres no sparking or arcing when the engines running then when it wont start remove the coil wire from the distributor cap and lay it or hold it close to a good ground like the camshaft cover or whatever and crank the engine you should see blue colored sparks from the coil wire if not than the coil is no good or power stage or one of the sensors like the camshaft position sensor or the crankshaft position sensor or something else.

When the engine wont start check for spark from the coil wire. When the engine runs remove the spark plug cover at knight in the dark and start the engine watch for a lot of sparks flying around there should be almost none. How old are the wires ? if their original I would replace them.

I dont know how old the wires are. I have had the car since 2003 and havent replaced them that was about 43 thousand miles ago. I did notice today that when I come to a very fast stop that my rpm's go way down and then they come back up and when idling in drive the car acts like it is puttering you know "put put put" mind you I have 205000 miles.

Did you check the spark plug wires in the dark at knight like I said Above ? If you did and their ok Try cleaning the IACV Idle Air Control Valve you can by the clamps at any auto parts store. When the engine stalls or wont start does it start or try to start if you step on the gas pedal ? if so then its definitely the IACV.

X-piece,

The photo of the plugs shows the body, so cant tell much about it, aside that it's BOSCH PLATINUM. What about the tip? THe tip is the part where spark is made. BUT since you've replaced the plugs, then it shouldnt be the issue.

Have you tried the IACV? Once you done it once, it's bloody easy to do again and again. Like clean it every 6 months.

Aside from that, i am thinking still on your CMP sensor.

Hey I have not replaced the plugs. The ones I showed are the ones that I recently put on. I was showing the orange almost rust like appearance of that one. I havent cleaned the iacv I was asking if someone knew where to get the clamos for it or if I can just use regular hose clamps. CMP sensor was replaced and a side note.
Since its gotten cold lately... It hasnt done it. I always felt like heat had something to do with it and this proves it, it does have something to do with heat.
