Anybody worked this out yet?

In UK cars there are two small levers just underneath the rear back of the passenger seat which allow the front deat to fold forward in the same sort of way that a 3 door car would to allow access to the rear. Volvo brochures say this should fold completely flat to make carrying very long loads easy but this is not possible even with the seat right back as the headrest hits the dashboard preventing the seat going fully down. I cant see a way for the headrest to come off as in other cars. We also have a V50 and the problem is the same. Any Ideas, there is probably a dead simple solution! :liebe011:

Hi CJW,

It is a simple solution really but a bit fiddly unless you know how!

The easiest way to do it is adjust the backrest of the passenger seat so it's perfectly vertical, next adjust the seat section to it lowest position (same for under knee support) and move the whole seat back along the rails a far as it will go.

Looking from the outside it would look like a perfect backwards 'L'

You can then release the two clips and push the whole backrest forward. I tend to then move the seat forward at this point so the headrest locks underneath the glove box.

I've attached a couple of pictures to show it is possible.

Hope this helps.

I have a US specs model with the electronic seat controls. Is this possible with mine?
