I own a 2006 Volvo S40. I just received a service bulletin in the mail.
It states---"Volvo has developed new software and methods to help ensure your continued satisfaction with your S40 and V50. The software will help improve battery life, alarm functionality, and climate control noise. The greasing of connectors will help to improve electrical door functionality." These actions will be performed by your authorized Volvo retailer at no charge. Good through May 30, 2009 regardless of mileage. |

I haven't received anything about this in the mail, but I took my car in for the 15,000 mile service last Thursday, and they did the software update and lubricated the doors. I haven't noticed any difference though.

Brought mine in for the 15K as well. What ever they did; i don't have that electronic owl/dog bark in my dash anymore! :lol: I didn't notice any other differences.

Very funny, I have the same noise problem (dog bark) coming out of the dash, but thought that I was hallucinating as it clearly sounds like that, tried to identify the source of the noise and couldn’t find it, I will now on my next visit for service ask for a review as I am not the only one now.
