Can someone please help me? I am trying to replace the alternator belt on my 1994 940. It looked easy but alas I am having issues. My 940 is NOT a turbo.
I was able to get the alternator to pivot by losening the 13mm bolt and turning the tightening bolt. However I need to take the a/c belt off in order to put the new alternator belt on. I looked at the a/c belt pulley and it seems to me the entire unit should pivot also. I found 2 pivot tracks, one in front and one in back of the unit. I loosened the 13 mm bolts on both. I loosened the tightening bolt on the front track. I thought at this point the a/c unit would pivot BUT IT DOES NOT!!
Am I crazy or did I miss something? I tried lifting the unit with a crowbar and it won't budge. Help please.
