I recently relocated and had to find a new mechanic. This new garage specializes in volvos. I have a '95 940. I have been hearing a knocking noise from the front end, passengers sidewhile driving and breaking.
After an assessment at the garage I was told the right side strut was blown and it was recommended that both front struts be replaced.
He gave me an estimate for volvo parts and labor of $530. IS this appropriate? I wanted to know if this is a reasonable estimate or if I am being ripped off?
Thank you in advance!

Sounds about right for Volvo units. Discount priced (FCP Groton) the struts are $118. Volvo units are probably $220. Now add in 2 to 3 hours real time for replacement. That is not book time which is more like 4+ hours for the job. Moderately easy repair but time consuming.
