Hey everyone,
I have a 98 S90. A few of the instrument cluster lights have gone out, on the far left and the far right. (actually it keeps coming on and off sometimes; does that happen to anyone else?) I bought a Chilton manual for the car and they are telling me that I have to remove the whole dashboard just to get to the bulbs of the instrument cluster which I want to replace. Anyone know of a way to remove the instrument cluster without removing the whole dashboard (and consequently the passenger air bag)?

Also, I know that this topic has come up before, but my antenna not going up and down, is that just a mast replacement needed?

Thanks for any response.

I had the same problem. I heard the motor working, so I took the mast off by unscrewing the nut holding it and then pulled the plastic wind line out of the tube...this freed up the mast and i noticed it was rough and would not go up or down easily. so i shot some lube in it and worked it loose. i also noticed that it was slightly bent. i straightened it out good enough and re-attached it to the car. it now goes up and down, yet not totally smooth. i have seen replacements for around $25...i might put a new one on it and be done with it. it really is a simple item to repair.

I dont have an answer for the instrument cluster. Bit a followup question:
The lights inside my radio dont come on. So, at night it's feeling for the right buttons. Is there an easy fix for this? I looked at the wires behind the unit and it's the standard Volvo cluster.
