Somehow i have managed to run up nearly 40k miles in the 2 years i've had the 850 SE, not bad fo a car i bought for only "occasional" use

Approaching 150k miles and by any measure its time to go for the cam belt. May as well do it soon whilst the weather is good and long before the MOT is due.

Questions, cam belt and ??????. Tensioners yes, but anything else whilst its in bits? I've took a look at the ancillery drive belt this morning and its well cracked in places so that will be changed as well. I'll be changing the front pads and replacing the brake fluid as well.

What's this i keep hearing about oil pans? I know the flame trap is OK but whats this i hear about checking the oil pan with respect to the crankcase pressure issue?

Thanks in advance

I think the oil pan issue you are talking about is the issue some cars are having with perishing o-ring seals in the sump area.

A kit is available which includes all o-rings and gaskets for the sump to solve oil leaks. Ive heard its not too expensive either but i dont know how much.

If yours isnt leaking any oil then dont worry about it. Check underneath anyway when dropping the oil to check that there are no leaks anywhere.

How's your water pump seals?
And your oil-pump?

They both have repair kits. I just changed them last month, eventhough there were no leaks, i just wanted to have a look on the insides.
