we had a 4.7 earthquake this morning - I live in one of the most geologically stable areas in the world, the last one here was in 1560, and before that 1380.
all I felt was the chair just moved very slightly as it was leaning avgainst the wall, My MIL spilt her cup of tea 6 miles south of us, the epicentre was apparently 15 miles south and about 6 miles down.
I have just filed probably the only earthquake report I ever will.

On the morning in question i had just woke up in a field in Central wales, as i unzipped the door of the tent something moved, just ever so slightly, but given i was in direct contact with the ground and a long way from any road i knew there was an earthquake somewhere. It was another 2 days before i saw the news and put 2+2 together.

Dudley in the west Midlands had a big (for the UK) one a few years back. And i can still recall the room shaking with one that happened in Wales in the 80's.

I'd hate to be in the middle of a real major one :blush:
