Does anyone know how to change the in-dash outside temperature display from reading Celsius to Fahrenheit? I've looked all through the owner's manual, but the only thing I can find is the page that identifies what it is, not how to work it. Any ideas?

I guess I'm not the only one stumped by this.

I'm pretty sure that it is in the manual.

I talked to someone @ Volvo over the phone. They said that they couldn't find it in the manual and that it would require going to a "certified volvo dealer".

I only stumbled upon this whilst looking to see if it were possible to change the outside temperature display light bulb. Remove the kick panel above the pedals. If you are fairly flexible position yourself so that you can look directly up towards the under side of the instrument cluster. If you look at the outside temperature display unit at the lower left of the cluster you will see a hole in the unit. Through this hole you will see a tiny red switch. Using a small electrical screwdriver carefully position the switch to either Celsius or Fahrenheit. Good luck…

Yes it can be changed with out tearing out the cluster. You have to remove the kick panel underneath. The bulb and holder just twist out. The fun part is getting a good enough grip on the holder to get the new unit back in the same hole. My mechanic had to use a socket and press the holder into the opening to get enough grip to get the bulb holder to twist back into the display. Not a hard job but a lot of feeling around with out the ability to see what your doing. :puzzled:

Why don't I have an in-dash temp display? 1998 US spec S90.
