Last stretch in the installation of my AUX input in my S40T5 2005 model.

Has ElectricSilver did I'm using the Kenwood KOS-A200 external controller with built in FM modulator and RDS track info displayed on VOLVO standard radio LCD.
I haven’t gotten as good of a sound quality as the scosche modulator but it is not bad. I'll try to play around with that. Best of all is the fact that it displays MP3 file name and folder on the car radio LCD and that you can scroll through track using a remote control. I have tried it and it works which is really neat  .

Now I have installed the Kenwood unit under the rear hat and start running cable to the front. I would like to run the cable under the carpet into the center consol/armrest up to the front cigarette lighter. There I will connect the ignition power and few easy plug-in connectors (RCA, phone, and USB).

However I can't figure out how to get access under the carpet and into the consol.
Does any know how to get their?

Thanks,

Greg

All right, I’m 98% complete with my installation. I can’t wait for it to be over so I can share a bit of it with this forum.
So I couldn’t figure out a way to remove the carpet so instead I went fishing… It took me quite a while to figure how to do this but using a long and flat plastic “stick” fished under the carpet starting from under the seat side I was able to run all the wires I wanted from behind the arm rest consol to under the seat foam liner. It’s all done and we don’t see a wire. I’m quite please with it. Here are few images…more to come with more details later.

FYI: I was able to remove the panel behind the arm rest consol somewhat by accident but it is possible to do it. There are plastic snaps, metal clips and plastic hooks that holds it. The best is to pull from the bottom side corners first to not break a thing.
