hi, i'm new volvos, but am looking to buy a 2005 V50 2.4. i drove a V50 in europe last year, the diesel version, and i liked that...

from what i can tell from the pics and description it has the sports package, the climate package and premium audio, too. looks like it's in great shape, but it does have 70k miles.

it just had a recent service (70k?, i'm not sure). there is a 100k transferrable warranty on the engine/trans.

so my really general question is:

anything to watch out for with the 2005's?

any problem with this engine going to 200k???

how is the sports package?

what's the next major service, and what does that entail?

any opinions on your '05 would be great.

thank you!

i have a 2005 V50, automatic, 2.4i. it has the sports package and factory 17" wheels. at first i found the combination of the 17" wheels, the sports package, and FWD too stiff. other folks have commented on this option. i found when i switched to continental pro contact tires, the feel was much better (for me.)

i did have my dealer put on 16" wheels at one point for a quick test drive, but the difference was not as great as i thought.

hope this helps in some way.
