Well I worked on a (my) Volvo today for the first time, (not counting last week when I changed the wiper motor, oil and oil filter). I did the timing belt, filter, cap and rotor, plugs and wires. I wanted to take a bunch of pictures, one with each step, but once i got started it was hard to stop and take pix.

New belt

Not that it had problems starting, but it fires up with more easy and instantly instead on turning over for 2 seconds.

Then came the fun part. I have been having trouble with the high brake light flickering on and off at will. Well it was this.... ( I think this was a delivery vehicle of some sort and the hatch had been opened and closed, ALOT).

Thats the drivers side, the passengers sides looked 'OK'. So I take the hatch off and find even better news (and a bee thats still alive!!!).

I was thinking, 'Just take out the old harness and put the new one in, and relace the ground strap.' Well the ground strap is not screwed in, its kind of 'permenently' attached to the hinge.

Oh and these are the new harnesses that I picked up when I criused by IPD yesterday when they were having the Rally. $13.xx a peice.

'Fixed' ground wires.

Put it all back together and now my brake light works and so do the license plate lights and rear defogger.

All in all, it was a productive day. Now onto the wiper linkage, its loose on the drivers side, behind the instrument cluster.

I still like this car more then my old 2000 Ford Mustang that I put ~$2000 in mods into. <_<
