so, I am finishing my valve job at my VOLVO 240 DL, '83, canadian made (B21A engine)

seams i wasted lots off the valves and now i have zero clerance between the shaft and the shims... removerd the shaft off again since i dont have anu shims remover, and still if i had, cuz even with the drums on my hands i havent made my mind how to get those things outta there.

I have a micrometer i borrowed from a coworker and have to give it back by friday, so need to take these shims off asap...
some one here knows a method, special tool or something?
thanx alot, hopefully will finish this valve job by next week and can take tha baby out for a ride...

PS: also would be good to know whats the thread on the shaft bearing bolts... so i can make my mind how much i went up before finding clearance since i have the turns i did on the nut but not the distance it lifted the shaft... little weird, but i think i can manage this with some accurate calculation.

hello Sergiten,
I have the same problem after a valve job on my 240. Here is a link to a posting on the T Brick site that helped. Read through to the end of the post, pretty well defines your (our) problem

Valve Limits

Nuts I believe are M10x1.25.
