Hi,

I'm planning to change my oil and switch to a synthetic. Since I'm switching from mineral to synthetic oil, I want to make sure I get all the old oil out of the system.

Can anyone tell me how to drain the oil cooler to remove residual oil?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

You have to crank the car up while there is no oil in it. Oil come out where the filter used to be AND you will get a good bit of oil from to the sump. I recovered about 7 qts of old oil in all 2 days ago when I switched to synthic . Be sure not to start up the engine for more than a second or so. Remember there is no oil circulating and you could ruin your engine.
Good Luck
