Hi,

Hope you can help with this.

I just bought a V70 SE 2.5L 1998, which i'm really happy with. Apart from the loud screech I hear for a second or two every time I accelerate in first gear.
This noise doesn't happen at low revs, but only when I want to accelerate with higher revs, i.e up a hill. <_< <_< <_< <_<

Has anyone experienced this noise before, or have ideas of the cause?

Have your acessories belt idler pulley and timing belt idler pulley looked at.Sounds like one of them are going bad.If it goes bad all the way it may throw the belt and then you need a head.
