Hello All

I have an issue with my 2006 S 40 and need some feedback from others who have this car. Mine is a stock basic S40 with the 5 speed manual transmission. I do not believe there is one option on the car.

A little while ago we started hearing a clunking coming from what sounded like the front end. Took the car to the dealer and luckily the noise was also heard by the tech. After inspection they said they found a bolt on the suspension that was stripped and was probably the culprit. They ordered a new bolt and installed it. They said that the noise had changed and was now only happening with the clutch in.

They have replaced the transmission, the clutch, the front axles, the shocks and the motor mounts and the noise is still there. Volvo is now saying that the noise is normal. Not sure how they approved all this work if the noise is normal but that is the battle in front of me.

My question is for anyone who owns a similar stock 5 speed manual if they notice a noise when going over a bump at slow speeds with the clutch in.
