Just bought a 2001 S60. Two days after I got it the check engine light comes on and says that the emission system needs checked. Over $200 to replace the spark plugs and change faulty thermostat. After several hours of reading I'm giving in and asking if someone can suggest a OBD2 reader that will work for Volvo. Most of the sites are real good about saying what they will do for Ford, GM etc. Not so forthcoming on Volvo's.
Any suggestions appreciated. I quit working on cars before OBD came out and with todays prices for repair I'm gonna get greasy again!
Great forums......
Thanks
moutainmouse.

As far as I know, any over the couter OBD II scanner will work since they all have to work in the US. Pepboys have their acctron scanners from the less infromative to the full version. JC whitney has one. Just goes to how much you are willing to spend. All OBD II are the same, GM, Ford, Volvo. Just remember, Ford owns Volvo, so I don't think that they would have any different programming if they can service Volvos from Ford dealerships. Hope it helps.
