I want to mount a large (180 cm x 110 cm) roof rack on my 2004 model XC70 for a long overland trip in Africa. Does anyone know the LOAD LIMITS of the roof rails on the XC70, or where I can get such information?
I need to know how much I can safely carry up there.

Why don't you check first the Manual... Everything you want to know is located in the Manual... :)

I don't know if this helps, but on my new 2008 XC70, it is in excess of 250 lbs. This is incredible and will be great for road trips to keep the dogs inside and bags on the roof.
