My 98 S90 just broke the timing belt. My concern is what is the posibility that I damaged the valves when the belt let go? Or can i just get away with the belt replacement and do a compression check afterwards. I don't want to have the mechanic to take this thing apart twice. Any advice????

Im 100% sure you have bent valves.I havent seen one yet that didn't bend valves.You should start looking for a new head.Some times they can be fixed but not all the time.
