I need this part for my '81 DL. First of all...most of the places I call don't know what this part is and they ask for a part number (I don't know what that is or where to find it). The one place that found it quoted it as $800.00, which other people have told me is ridiculous. So any ideas?

Are you talking about the computer under the hood on the passenger side that has a vaccum line that runs to it?

It's on the driver side and under the manifold. My car is too old for a computer system :( It's the airflow sensor and the fuel distributor.

The only thing I could suggest is check your local salvage yards.I looked in my haynes book and see what you are talking about. They aren't showing me all the diffrent setups. They are showing that the air flow sensor and the fuel dist. is under the air filter. But I kinda know the setup you have I had one years ago.Alot of times you might be able to find one in a salvage yard.Yes they are very expensive im not sure how cheap you will be able to find it for.

OK this is about the good old Bosch fuel inject system I mentioned last week as being an expert on such following the same path as you are being taken down

please go to that thread [under 240 etc??] and I will explain

seems like this is the ref, maybe this question should be moved there [he dont say if 4 or 6 cylinders??]
