Volvo S40 T4 98 plate
I am wondering if anyone can help me with this. I purchased this car a while ago and have ironed most issues i have had with it. The only issue i have at the moment is on the top of the engine block (look at pics where the blue pipe is) there is a hole that goes down about 1cm and then another layer of metal goes across it with a smaller hole in it. The problem that i have is if i don't have the blue pipe in it i get oil that comes out of the hold and all over the engine. I know that i haven't explained it that well but if you have a look at the pics it should all become clear. I am trying to find out what goes in that hole does anyone know ??? I have asked many people and they don't know. I have even sent pics to my local Volvo repair place and they don't know. SO if anyone has this car can they have a look for me as i would be extremely great full. or if you could take pics and email me that would be even better

Hi people i found what went in there it was meant to be blocked from below. Volvo wanted £200 for the part which is basically the top plate of the engine. I got a piece of heat resistant rubber and cut it into shape and have managed to bung it up. Result cost 50p.
