One day ahead of the scheduled Geneva debut, Volvo has decided to spill the beans on its new 2008 XC70 off-road capable wagon.

For its third time around, the XC70's styling has again been updated and - we think - improved. The front end is more sculpted, angular and aggressive than before, a look that is carried through to the rear of the automobile.

Two engines are available in the XC70, Volvo's new 238 horsepower 3.2-liter I6, and a 185 horsepower five-cylinder diesel. Power is channeled to all four wheels via the Swedish automaker's Geartronic six speed semi-automatic gearbox....continued at 2008 Volvo XC70

I have the latest XC70 D5 SE 185 which of course has the current body shape.
Many of the offerings on this new 08 model appear to be already in place on my car or are available as options.
The 4C traction suspension system is already an option so for me the most obvious is the styling which is a little more 'moderne' I suppose.
I note that the rear boot access on the new one appears not quite as wide than at present? - which was one of my reasons for shoosing this model.

The interior seems to be almost the same as my Father-in-law's S80? is it ( I'm not too familiar with the models) and I've always thought when in it that the central dash is very avant guarde maybe, with the gap behind it (which appears to serve little purpose) but I prefer the one I've got.

So I'm in no hurry to change just yet - and I got a great deal on this one - so..?

Mind you as long as it doesn't have blue neon dials - that's really when I show my age - can't stand 'em! :P
