I have a 1999 V70R, and wondering if I can use the newer volvo key-fob style (the kind where the key is inside the remote; like VW's)
I know I can engrave the key, but I dont know if the remote will still work, or if theyre the same and I can program it.
If I can program it, does anyone know the instruction for programming new remote keys?

If the key fob you have now has a transmitter in it, a dealer would have to program the new key fob.

but would an older car (1999 V70) work with a newer remote key (2003+ volvo) or are the transmitters or whatever it uses different?

I have no idea if they are compatible.
