I recently bought the new volvo s80 D5 fully accessoried and, to my surprise, the OEM bluetooth phone did not pair with my nokia n80. I tried with the old 6600 and still have a lot of problems. It seems that my bluetooth only works with a couple of models of very old nokia and motorola. I was promised a software update in a month or so but no news yet.
Anybody can help????

I got the same problem as you. My cellphone is Sony Ericsson P990i.
I tried to pair with my old phone -P910i, it's work.
I guess that volvo bluetooth just support bluetooth 1.1 did not include bluetooth 2.0.
or it can solve the problem by software update ?

Also Treo CE is not seen .

The same , I just get my new s80 and no way to connect my SonyEricsson 990i , any solutions from Volvo or need to change my phone.

No easy way!!!! I tried with so many nokia and motorola but none seemed to work correctly. Worse defect was that they unload the phone book (the 6600 do not) but still the bluetooth DO NOT SHOW WHO IS CALLING which is unacceptable. I still keep the 6600 and make the call from phone and wait for a software update from Volvo (which is due for any 50.000 euro car). I suggest that we all insist with our Volvo dealer instead of managing by ourselves with poor results.

If we have the email of the correct person in VOLVO we can press from as far as Taiwan , Chile or Italy as I see in our posts.

I have the same problem with nokia E50 and Nokia E65. :-(
Is it not possible to flash the Volvot kit with a new software ?

Still waiting for news over bluetooth upgrade by volvo , for Sony ericcsson 990i or Nokia
N95.
The Volvo Bluetooth compatibility list doesnt help , all phones included are the old ones.

There is an software update available in week 48 with compatibility of 63 phones.
So race to your dealer!

Any word if the new software supports the Iphone? Thanks!

Just purchased a 2008 S60 and the iPhone works great with the Volvo (looks like Motorola) Bluetooth handsfree. Hope this helps.

Hi dear friends

Got today a brand new new S80 T6 Executive, Model 2008.
Here the first impressions, and these remain "for a life" as Volvo wisdom says!

Here they are:
1. Bluetooth - a disaster (my Nokia 61E doesn't work with it at all)
2. Front glass sunlight protection band (above) doesn't exist, despite all nice photos in the prospects and even reviews done by independent journalists. Does anyone knows the E-Mail address of the Customer Satisfaction VP E-Mail address?

Hope we can improve Volvo management's understanding of the customer's complaints!

New software for bluetooth FACTORY FIT ONLY now available. If you got the aftermarket volvo kit then tough no update available.
Will help with some phones but not all.

For my and my Nokia E61 and/or 7610 models nothing new, i.e. DON'T WORK AT ALL (Except first sync). And software has been updated to very latest version TODAY - nightmare for garage personel and (I hope very much ) soon for the management in Stockholm!

Just tried my work E61i and personal N95 with not much success. Both will create a bluetooth partnership and connect. Neither of them will allow download to the phonebook even with rSim enabled. The E61i also drops the bluetooth connection as soon as the other person answers!

I tried my old Nokia 6151 and it kind of works - it downloads the address book but only the first number for each name. Looks to me like the Volvo setup was designed to work with some really old handsets or maybe just non-Nokia handsets.

Is anyone having success with non-Nokia handsets?
