Hello, I'm about to buy a used Volvo S60. I've recieved this VIN number: YV1RS743222168066

I have asked VOLVO about this number and they have told me about the car and it seems like a valid number.

But when I enter it into some VIN sites they say "VIN invalid" or "This VIN number is not registered in our database". The car is originally from Italy, but now resides in Germany. I have had this problem with the VIN of almost all the Volvo S60's I have looked at so far.

What can I do???

I don't seem to find a VIN number search on that site. Are you sure it's there?

The carfax site doesn't work for German Volvo S60's it seems to be aimed primarily at North American cars. I need something that works in Europe :|

Is that just a spec based on the number? Do you have the possibility to actually see recorded information about if the car has been crashed, or something like that?
