First of all I would like to thank the forum creators and especially the folks who pass along the wisdom for making our lives easier.

History: 1978 245dl k-jet purchased for $300 not running had been sitting at least a year.

Fixed already:
- prepump in the gas tank was dead and the filter and transfer tube were rotted to dust, - fuse block did not look corroded on appearance but the windshield has a leak in the corner and sure enough it was enough to keep power from the relay and in turn the main fuel pump.
- fuel pump relay's guts were toasty.
- plugs were carbon saturated but were not weak by any means.
- coil to distributer cap corroded bad problably no transfer of juice.

Stumbled a bit then started.....yeah!

Ran 5mins and flushed filled and added oil detergent to clean, plan too flush again.

The dilemma:
When I start it up I have no smoke immediately but after warming a bit of black smoke comes out and eventually it turns white with a tinge of blue but it could be the ambient light because the sky is blue right?? (just kidding, It's not thick blue smoke that sounds like big$$$) There's a bit of oil around the head gasket seal which leads me to believe the maybe that's the problem. My other concern is that there is significant water condensation almost spewing out of the exhaust.

This model has the Lambda Sond and I set the timing @ 12 degrees but it looks like it should be 15 according to another source online. I'm concerned about getting my timing and air to fuel mixture right before I pull the head. Also I'm is California and this thing will have to pass smog inspection not to mention I want it to be a daily driver.

I'm not an expert but I'm interested in learning,
Any advice would be helpful,
Thanks all
