Drives: 1998 Volvo S40CD
I have a 1998 S40CD Automatic. I have owned the car for 16 months and it has only done 35,000miles. It is immaculate! I have owned many cars including Toyota Camry, BMW 320, Peugeot 406 and I like this car better than any I have owned. My only gripe is the ride over bumpy (potholes, drains or even reasonable 'mends' in the road. It really bangs at the back end. I have had the Shock absorbers etc checked by Volvo garage who tell me there is nothing wrong. It is a little better when i underinflate the tyres by around 2lbs ( maybe i should try 3 or 4 but this wouldn't feel right with me). Can anyone suggest anything? Is there a softer shocker? Thanks

Im not sure if there is a softer shock or not you will haev to try in the aftermarket.
