greetings,

i just received a center armrest for my 1990 volvo 240 dl. i cannot locate the two mounting holes to install this armrest. any help would is greatly appreciated.

The brackets are secured with the transmission tunnel seatbelt anchor bolts in 1988-1993 240s. In the earlier models, the seatbelt latches are in the console and these bolts are used for the armrest alone, if fitted. In your model the armrest brackets fit under the seatbelt anchors.

Ive never seen a centre arm rest for 240s.
Are they only in US models?

No they came in all of the models, but are pretty rare. Especially with the cupholder pullout. Those alone go for like 75-100 dollars on eBay.

that looks exactly same as the one in the rear seat on 264 models - well except the swing bracket would be different

might just take a look

so it sits up high enough to get to hand brake?

No. If you want the hand brake you just flip it up. It's very easy to move up and down.

thank you for the information. i am now having difficult time removing the seat belt anchor bolts. is there a trick to getting these off? thanks again.

Nope. Just get the right socket and a good ratchet wrench and unscrew 'em.

If I remember correctly, you'll need a 17 mm socket.
