Last time I reset the service light thought I:
turned key to position 1
pressed and held odometer reset and turned key to pos 2.
held until light flashed 3 times and turned key to off
released odometer reset.

didn't work this time- help pls.

Thanks

hi mate what i got off ebay is
Volvo S80 1999 - 2000 model year service light reset procedure

Turn ignition switch to position 1

Press and hold "odometer reset button"

Turn ignition switch to position 2

Continue holding odometer reset button for approx 10 seconds.

After SRL flashes, releas day counter button.

Should hear "beep-beep" to confirm command accepted.

hope this helps

I think that you just need to hold it for about 10-14 seconds. It worked on mine.

I release the button rather than turning the key off when the exclamation mark flashes, there is no beep but it always works.

I had bits of the dashboard on my UK T reg (1999) S80 out in order to change the radio (another saga entirely) and now get a message coming up that says 'Service Airbags Urgently'

This may be a coincidence, but I think not.

Have found various tips on this forum and elsewhere for re-setting service indicators that refer to the 'day counter button' as well as the trip odometer.

Have tried all the combinations of ingnition switching and pressing/releasing the trip button, but none of them work.

Anybody got any ideas ~ including where the day counter button is?

Wilson

Day counter is not a button, it's more of a turn knob. It's right by the time indicator. There is also a date function to the display. But that is the day/time adjustment.
