My wife and I recently aquired a checkered past 1999 V70 fwd. The problem that bothers me most is a missing sway bar link on the right front tire. Although the part isn't all that expensive, it occurs to me that like most aftermarket items there will be some slight differences between brands. Since I don't know the source of the left hand link, should it be totally necessary to replace both links?
The second question is aimed at those lucky shadetree mechanics who know a government mechanic. I know that all cars have a "master manual" and wonder if one is available for the v70 series yet. Previously I've been able to visit an authorized service bay as a "visitor" and seen how good manuals can get i.e. multiple DVD-roms or encylopedia sized. Short of "the manual" what is the best manual available for this series? I used to have total access to alldata but they now have whole sections that say things like "We cannot provide information about this, please contact or visit the information provider". Although I will probably resubscribe to that service. Thanks in advance to any assistance.

I just checked with Volvo itself and they do have a master manual set at $3k+, a little pricey for a car we paid less than $5k for.
