I believe I need to replace my rear pads, not sure of rotors. I will post a photo and maybe ask for opinions.

But here's the first question - are the mintex pads at FCP Groton reasonably good?

Also, normally, will I need to replace the anti rattle hardware?

I have a bunch of problems with the brakes. the ABS light comes on after a short time (I think this is because a pad is dragging). There is a smell, from one wheel (again, guessing the dragging pad causes this). And the e-brake no holdy.

Maybe I Will just go to a brake shop and let them handle it.

I installed Mintex pads in my car 5000 kms agos. The breaks are squealing and rims are full of break pad debris.

That's my experience, maybe other members can tell theirs.

Most people recommend OEM Volvo pads because they are quiet and clean.

I made the mistake of listening to the mechanic, haha.

Regards
Axel

Thanks for the input Axel.

Anyone else want to comment on these pads? Someone said "you get what you pay for" regarding brake pads, but I don't know what that means exactly. Does that imply that Mintex are crud? I'm very interested in other opinions.

The car breaks wonderfully and the mechanic spoke very highly of the pad quality. The problem is the squealing and the dust.

I bought my pads at napa, they are napa brand and made by Ray Bestos (which are good they were one of the first people to make brake pads). They dont squeel, they were cheap, and they dont put off a whole lot of brake dust after about 500 miles. After reading this I wont buy mintex, maybe Pagid next time.

I have replied in the other thread. But also check the shims. The rear pads comes with the shims.
