I just bought a 2007 XC90....With the car turned off there is a slight buzzing sound that comes from the center console...real quiet but I'm worried this buzz will drain the battery...

Were you able to figure out what was making your noise? I've got a 03 xc90 T6 that buzzes after the engine is turned off. I haven't been able to determine what the cause is yet, but when I hit the brake pedal (after the engine has been cut off) the buzz seems to come and go as I apply the brake. Anyone out there have any ideas?

And while we're on the subject of buzzes....

At low speeds, generally 25 - 35 MPH, I hear a buzzy-rattle when I press on the accelerator. Not always, but usually in parking lots when there's lots of people and they all turn their heads a look. Very embarassing.

The faint buzz near the centre console is normal, not sure what it is, but it doesn't drain the battery, had a customer ask the same question the other day a few hrs after he'd picked up his brand new S60.


The buzz noise with the brake pedal is the vacuum pump for the brake booster, it gives vacuum assitance to the brakes even if there isn't enough engine vacuum, or the engine isn't running, as you can hear.


Not sure on accelerator pedal buzz sorry.
