Wanted to know what manufacturer do the Volvo community at large uses the most. This is by no means scientific or super accurate, but is a lot of fun. I myself will use Mobil 1 syn, but might change if others tend towards another brand.

PS: feel fre to add any comments such as weights or synth vs organic or that you feel the oil sucks or not.

Petronas... ahhh, the Malaysian oil firm. Yeah there maybe some companies that I may forget to add to the list. By all means list any that you use that is not in the list above. By the way, what weight and style of oil do you use from them? Do you use them because of cost or performance?

:) I use whatever Ford Motor Company (Local) puts in...They use Motorcraft 5/30W Syn Blend the last change...My Volvo came with free oil/filter/lube & tire rotation every 5000 miles as long as I own it..I would think FMC would know whats best for the Volvo, seeing how they own it...I'am also sure the weights of oil would differ depending on climate where one lives....
Note: If I did my own oil/filter, would probably go with Mobil 1., 5/30 weight...

They come in many viscosities.

Check here:-

AND here;

I normally use either the Syntium 1000 SM, 15W50 or Syntium 1000 SL, 15W50.

BTW, I've used Shell, Mobil and Castrol. But am sticking with Syntium.
:)

Due to cost AND performance.
