Hi,
Since summer 2006 Ive been experiencing problems when starting my car. The car starts then stalls, taking up to 6 attempts to start it. This all started when ENGINE SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED appeared in the information display. I had a lack of power and the car would not go over 2000rpm.
The dealer has plugged the computer onto the car, but there have been no fault codes. They now blame it on the Clifford Alarm which i had fitted in 2005!!!
Ive also suffered from hot air blowing out when the air-con is on which was a software upgrade.
Recently the windows failed to work and i could not lock the car. Yet again another software upgrade was required!!!
Does anyone have any idea what the faults could be?
Ive since discovered that the chassis, engine and electrical system is the same as the ford focus. Ford have had starting problems which resulted in a faulty accelerator switch. Could this be the same?
Any help would be appreciated.

Join the club,my wifes V50 TDI estate has just been RAC recovered for the 2nd time in 3 months with some kind of fuel starvation problem (car is 14 months old 14,000 mioes on clock.
Symptoms engine would cut out without warning ,engine would start and not rev ....Then die .
