Just wondering if anyone else would use a live chat section (chat room), if admin made one available on this forum.
I've been on a U.K. Army forum, and been on their Live Chat thingy, such a laugh and made a long boring night shift fly by.

Shoot me now if I sound geeky!!!!!

I've already suggested this to Admin. Admin didn't exactly display the symtoms of multiple organ failure at my suggestion. Apparently, it has already been suggested previously. Admin felt that it would detract from the forum aspect of the site. To a degree, that position has validity. But, if it has not already been tried-what do we stand to loose?

IMHO, having worked with forums and websites for the past 3 or 4 years, chatrooms + forums = chatroom - forum.

Now if this site was more than just a forum, a chatroom would probably be a great suggestion. register an irc channel somewhere, put the address and room on the site, wrap a java irc chat applet in IPB, and voila wonderful free live chat with no server load...unlike comparable flash based chats etc.

but as this is just a forum...it would take away from the activity and liviness of the forum...plus all the helpful archived posts.
