Hello-I am trying to figure out the center armrest and all it's little accessories in my 1995 960... There is a tray that pulls out towards the front seats that I am not sure what the intended use is. My owner's manual says there is a cupholder there and I do see one for the rear seats when the top is flipped towards the back but none for the front.... Can anyone identify this for me? Thanks!

FWIW, mine flips back to reveal a cupholder, but no tray in the front <_<

I believe there were 2 variants of the center armrest for the 960. One was equipped with a cupholder and the other is probably the one you have. Maybe it's just an utility box for coins, ammunition, etc...

The manual probably just printed the use of the cupholder variant without mention of the other type.

Thanks for your help....actually, I HAVE been stashing my ammunition in the center cassette holder area, some in the ashtray and of course there's always the "secret compartment" in the trunk....heh heh, no, really, the tray slides out and is FLAT except for the two plastic thingies that flip up when you pull it out....
And for all you who want to know what that elusive radio code is.... I got tired of waiting for my seller to contact the previous owner and called my closest Volvo dealer and in 2 hours and 10 minutes I was enjoyin the music-for the most part, anyway-the driver's side speaker doesn't work-not a sound-could be a loose connection somewhere? Would that be easy to look for? Depend on who's lookin i suppose....right?

Take the door apart, and if its really just a loose connection, you should be able to rectify it easy.

You can also check to see if the balance was knocked out of whack. could be that instead of taking the door apart. go for the easy one first, then you curse and do the hard one last.
