back on here again I am just not having much luck :blush: All forward gears can be selected without a crunch however when selecting reverse you get the dreaded crunch- yes the cluch was depressed :) but is this an indication that the clutch is on its way out . :wacko: The car has done 70,000 miles and has a hydraulic clutch so I believe no adjustment is possible


Update:- just tried the handbrake trick - pull away in first with handbrake on - the car pulls away no slip ?????

If the clutch is OK, gearbox fluid level is correct and you're letting the engine idle for a second before engaging reverse, then it sounds like a bit of wear & tear inside the 'box.

I'd get a gearbox specialist to drive the car & try reverse to give an opinion on whether it's bad enough to warrant removal of the gearbox.

I am having a little problem shifting to reverse, too.
But this is only when I go to work in the morning and the car haven't been driven for a several hours.

it never occurs at daytime when car stands still perhaps 4 hours tops.
